I have been able to convince about 15 teachers at Sweetwater High School to do the Hour of Code for the students in their classes during a school period on Wednesday, December 20th, from 10 am to 11 am. I will have one class and teacher do the Hour of Code from 8 am to 9 am on that same day and time. I was able to organize and use classrooms and the library that had computer stations. I also was able to have students use our mobile laptop "labs", tablets, and smartphones; I also asked teachers to do "pair" programming so that we did not require to have a computing device for every student. It took some work, but the principal, Maribel Gavin, and the teachers were very supportive of the event. My initial goal was to get the whole school involved, which was 2500 students, but that was quite difficult; I am still excited that we were able to get that many teachers and students to do the Hour of Code!
