Many CSEdWeek events go beyond the Hour of Code, incorporating a wide range of activities for students and, in some cases, for their parents, families, and teachers. To see what others are doing, and to get ideas for what you might do, browse all of the listings or search using criteria given on the right hand side of the page. You can also view the map to see events across the country and in your area.
Please submit a description of your own event to add to the calendar so that we can build this resource for others who follow. Thanks!
We will explore many ways of coding: game design, animation, drawing, and robotics! In one workshop, children will explore game design with Tynker, a visual programming language that utilizes drag-and-drop code blocks, animation tools and an art studio to customize characters and backgrounds, and more! Children can also view and edit their code with JavaScript to develop an understanding of real text-based programming languages. In the second workshop, children will learn the basics of coding with Wonder Workshop using drag-and-drop programming and robots! Try your hand at design challenges to build and program robots named Dash and Dot. Code Dash and Dot to follow directions, send messages, and even transform into entirely new creatures.
